The College of Dentistry – University of Tikrit Bids Farewell to the National Accreditation Team Following the Completion of Its Programmatic Evaluation Mission

 

The National Accreditation Team concluded its duties at the College of Dentistry – University of Tikrit after completing a series of field visits and evaluation sessions related to the requirements for obtaining national accreditation for dental programs, in accordance with the standards of the National Council for the Accreditation of Iraqi Dental Colleges.

During the visit, the team reviewed various aspects of the college’s educational environment, including lecture halls, laboratories, clinical training clinics, and infrastructure. They also examined quality assurance mechanisms, self-evaluation processes, and supporting documentation related to the accreditation file.

At the end of its mission, the team held a concluding meeting with the College’s administration and the committees involved in programmatic accreditation, during which key observations and outcomes were discussed, along with commendations for the college’s efforts in enhancing quality standards and meeting accreditation requirements.

The College of Dentistry expressed its gratitude and appreciation to the members of the National Accreditation Team for their efforts during the evaluation period, valuing their role in supporting academic programs and monitoring performance indicators in a manner that contributes to improving educational standards.

To mark the end of the visit, the college organized a farewell and appreciation ceremony for the team members, presenting certificates of appreciation and symbolic gifts as an expression of gratitude for their dedicated work and effective contribution to supporting the academic accreditation process. The college also extended its best wishes for their continued success in their upcoming missions in service of the medical education sector in Iraq.

Visit of the National Evaluator Team to the Specialized Dental Center at Tikrit Teaching Hospital to Assess the Competence of Graduates of the College of Dentistry – University of Tikrit

 

The National Evaluator Team, which includes a ministerial committee responsible for determining the eligibility of colleges to obtain programmatic accreditation, visited today the Specialized Dental Center at Tikrit Teaching Hospital to assess the competence of graduates of the College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit and to measure their clinical and academic skills in accordance with the approved national standards.

The visit included a field tour inside the specialized clinics and clinical units, where the team reviewed the training programs provided to clinical-stage students and graduates, the supervision mechanisms for managing patient cases, and the evaluation of service quality offered to patients at the Specialized Dental Center.

The College of Dentistry administration affirmed its full support for the efforts of the ministerial committee, emphasizing that such visits contribute to enhancing the quality of clinical education and increasing the college’s readiness to obtain programmatic accreditation, which in turn positively reflects on the graduates’ competence and their ability to deliver high-quality healthcare services to the community.

Dean of the College of Dentistry Inspects the Rehabilitation Campaign of the College Corridors, Front Gardens, and Several Internal Facilities

As part of the ongoing efforts to develop the university environment and improve services within the College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit, the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Raheel Ali, conducted an inspection tour to review the progress of the rehabilitation campaign for the college’s corridors, front gardens, and several internal facilities.

The rehabilitation works included the college façade facing the College of Law, repainting of the external fence, and the renovation of the students’ rest hall to provide a comfortable and stimulating environment. The campaign also featured the installation of distinctive interior decorations, including a water fountain that adds a positive and aesthetic atmosphere to the college corridors.

During his tour, the Dean emphasized the importance of adhering to technical and aesthetic standards and expediting the completion of works according to the specified timelines. He reaffirmed the college administration’s commitment to providing an integrated academic environment that meets the needs of both students and faculty members.

He also praised the efforts of the Services Unit and maintenance staff for their close follow-up and high-quality execution of the work, stressing that this campaign comes as part of the College Administration’s development plan aimed at upgrading infrastructure and service facilities, and enhancing the civilized appearance of the College of Dentistry and the University of Tikrit as a whole.

The College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit received today the National Accreditation Team assigned to evaluate the requirements for obtaining national accreditation for dental programs, in accordance with the standards of the National Council for the Accreditation of Iraqi Dental Colleges. This visit comes as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and achieve nationally approved programmatic accreditation standards.

During their tour, the team reviewed the college’s educational environment, including lecture halls, scientific laboratories, clinical training clinics, and the infrastructure supporting the educational process. They also examined the quality assurance and self-assessment mechanisms adopted by the college.

The team held a meeting with the committees responsible for reviewing the documents and files related to programmatic accreditation requirements, discussing performance indicators and academic quality standards.

The College’s administration affirmed its full readiness to cooperate with the National Accreditation Team and its commitment to meeting all programmatic accreditation requirements in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision to elevate the quality of academic programs in medical colleges.

College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit Hosts Workshop on Institutional Accreditation

The College of Dentistry at the University of Tikrit hosted today a scientific workshop that addressed the importance of institutional accreditation and guided the university’s academic departments toward fulfilling its specific requirements. The event comes as part of the university’s efforts to promote quality and advance academic and administrative performance.

The workshop was delivered by:

  • Prof. Dr. Arkan Bur'an Mohammed – Head of the Quality Assurance Department,
  • Prof. Kifah Abbas Mohimeed,
  • Lecturer Asst. Inst. Mahmoud Fawzi Hameed.

The workshop targeted the heads of all academic departments across the university and was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Raheel Ali, Dean of the College of Dentistry, along with a number of university leaders, department heads, and a select group of the college’s staff and employees.

The workshop focused on the significance of institutional accreditation as a cornerstone for ensuring the quality of higher education, and on the necessity for academic departments to complete accreditation requirements in alignment with national and international quality and accreditation standards.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants stressed the importance of joint efforts and coordination between departments and specialized committees to achieve the university’s goals in meeting quality standards and attaining academic excellence. The workshop also resulted in several recommendations, most notably the development of a phased action plan and the formation of follow-up committees in the colleges to monitor the effective and systematic implementation of institutional accreditation requirements.
